-we need some more days for our project (irem)

-Yes, but we can get permit. To me this will not be easy. ( izin alabilirsek demeye çalıştım ama olmadı sanırım) (ya)

-why? the teacher said if we wanted she would give more time (bende istersek zaman verir gibi bir şey demek istedim benimki de olmadı galiba) (i)

- To me your sentences are correct. At least ı can understand. (yavuz)

- I call shelter. Attendant say : You can come here on tuesday, wednesday and thursday. You must call me one day ago (your come). (ya)

- we can go on tuesday. did you learn the shelter's closing time?

-First, i found the animal shelter's number on the internet.Later, i called and, said we wanted to go there on Saturday. But, on Saturday, the attendant will be busy so we are obliged to put it off to some other day.Eventually, we will call again and go the to shelter. If we agree with them, we will accomplish the project.
Good luck to us........ (yagmur) (umarım hata yapmamışımdır :P)

- we should decide about the day quickly because we haven't got much time (yaptığım hataları görmezden gelin) (i)

-If you want, write it in Turkish. We can see it in English :D (y)

- Shelter closes at 3 p.m. To me we can go on wednesday because we can get ready well. (ya)

- I have found a German group on facebook. And ı have sent request. And they accepted my membership. This group is http://tierhilfe-griechenland.de/'s facebook group. I wrote a message to a group member '' I am a student from Turkey. Could I ask you a few questions about the animal shelters in Germany ? (ya) ( İngilizce bildiğini varsayarak :) )

- Member's name isJürgen Lüdeke. And he said to me : Of course you can, but we are not a shelter. I have looked at his photos and profile. I guess he is a volunteer at the shelter. (ya)

- I wrote another message to another member. I said : I am a student from Turkey. Could I ask you a few questions about animal shelters in Germany ? and he/she (ı don't know because ı sent a message to the page) said : Hi Yavuz, i hope, i can answer your questions... :) (ya)

- This page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tierschutzverein-Kreis-Aachen-eV/187591951282641. And ı wrote 'First of all many many thanks for your help.' :.But my english isn't well so if you can't understand something ı can repeat. Which city do you live in? (ya)

- I find a girl on this page and ı asked the same question to her. She says : Hi what do you want to know? Just ask. :) (ya)

- I have written everything but first we should finish with the other shelter ( the one in Kadiköy) (ya)

- Friends to me if our teacher agrees, we(?) we should change Germany animal shelter with something else. Because ı have sent minimum 20 mesages to their page (many people saw them) but only 3 people have answered me so far. Because they don't know english. If ı can't find another person we should change our country. It should be U.S.A or England. (yavuz) 04.11.2011

-the online interview with Miss Nina Schoellhorn from the shelter in GERMANY

I am in contact with Nina Schoellhorn. Thr interview is below:

-I am a student from Turkey. Could I ask you a few questions about the animal shelters in Germany ?

+Yes, give me the questions- no problem.

-First of all many many thanks for your help :) Where do you live ?

+Can you please, first of all let me know who you are and what you need the informations for? Thanks.

-I am a student at Istanbul Uskudar High School. And this is my homework. I have selected Germany because in my opinion your shelters are very good. I can understand you but I haven't got any malevolence.

+Ok. I live in the south of Germany.

-thanks. my english isn't well so if you can't understand ı can repeat. How many shelters are there? And to you in this shelters apply the animal rights? I guess you're an attendant in these shelters. It's right?

+There are 519 official shelters in Germany that are member of the big German organization: Deutscher Tierschutzbund. But there are many more private shelters. In total it is about 800 shelters. Of course animal rights are applied.
You mean if I am an attendant of a shelter? No, I am a vet and I work together with foster homes.

-I'm so sory . electiricity was cut off. According to you how are animal's life conditions in these shelters?

+The conditions are fine. They have a clean surrounding, get enough food and water, medical care and as much attention that the people working there have time to give. Most of the dogs even go for walks every day. But of course: No animal shelter can replace a home. Every dog and cat needs a home!

-Can you give me some information about the organization ( Deutscher Tierschutzbund )?

+The Deutsche Tierschutzbund is the biggest German Organisation for animal wellfare. They have most animal shelters under their leadership. But they are organizing campaigns against animal abuse, animal testing in laboratories, industrial live stock farming, fur and many other items, too. Their aim is to inform about all kinds of issues around animals.

http://www.tierschutzbund.de/

-I understand. thanks :) ı want to ask another question : German people? are there sensitive to animals?

+Yes, most of the German people are sensitive about animals. Especially about cats and dogs.

-And to me this is most important things.do you know any thing about Turkey? ı mean shelters in Turkey? do you hear any things?

+Yes, we hear about problems in Turkey with stray dogs, problems in shelters because of too many dogs and not enough money. In some shelters the living conditions are very bad. That’s why German organizations are helping in turkey, trying to support the animal rescue people there with improving the situation in the shelters, arranging spay and neuter campaigns and bringing dogs to Germany for adoption.

-You're right. But some shelters are developed to themself. But Türkish are very sensitive in this subject. ı hope we can like you in this subject. Which the main shelters in Germany? (ı hope you can understand my question )

+No, I am sorry, I don`t understand your question.

-There are many shelters in Germany. You say about 800. And some shelters are bigger than this . Where are these big shelters? I hope you can understand.

+The biggest shelter is in Berlin:

http://www.tierschutz-berlin.de/tierheim/tiervermittlung.html

There are 263 dogs at the moment. In other German shelters the average is about 40 dogs. There are many with only 15 or twenty dogs. Shelters with about 80 dogs are already big.

-Thank you for your answer :) Can ı ask my friend's question to you tomorrow or other days?

+Yes you can :)

are we going to the shelter tomorrow? yavuz, have you called the shelter? who wrote it? yes ı have called the shelter and we are going tomorrow. (yavuz) 05.11.2012

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN KADIKOY SHELTER AND THE SHELTER IN GERMANY

KADIKOY SHELTER
SHELTER IN GERMANY( ALBERT SCHWEİTZER TİERHEİM GROß-ESSEN)
There are just dogs approximately 300.
There are approx 200-300 cats, 80 dogs, also mice, rabbits, pigs rats and other small animals.
Dogs are in their own huts or around the cages surrounded by railings of iron.
Cats live in a small groups in rooms. ın these rooms, the cats have everything they need. Dogs live in their own huts like in Kadıkoy shelter and they have big places to play and walk . Birds live in aviaries and rats do so too. rabbits and pigs live in bays
In Kadıkoy shelter if they cannot find anywhere for the dogs to live and they cannot take care it anymore they put them to sleep without pain by operation.
In this shelter they take care of them until they find a new house for them to live there.
if you’re a person under the age of 16 and can take responsibility, they give a pet to you.
ıf you have enough time, money etc. to provide suitable conditions for pets and if you can answer some questions about animal care and if you are on the age of 18 they give a pet to you.
Some of the people in Turkey become volunteers to help the shelter.
Generaly German people become volunteers to help shelter’s work
More than 300 animals come to the shelter but unfortunately max. 60-70 people adopt animals from the shelter.they usually buy animals from pet shops.
In Germany to sell animals in pet shops is illegal.there are more people who want to adopt n animal from the shelter. but it is not the same in Turkey. There are fewer peple who want to take care of the animals.
